Barry & Shirley Raut
Row House Gallery Adds Art Glass Jewelry
Inspired by four intense days in the on-site studio of the famous Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, where they engaged in hands-on glass-blowing in the studio’s hot shop (flamework glass bead-making and warm glass fusing), Shirley and Barry Raut returned to their Milford home motivated to launch a serious glass-making enterprise of their own. Converting a den to a small studio, they purchased a glass fusing kiln and other glass-making tools and equipment, plus a healthy supply of glass in a wide range of colors, textures and designs, including the remarkable dichroic-coated glass which grew out of modern laser and aerospace technology.

From their experience at Corning, and through their own experimentation and creativity, the Rauts have crafted a starter line of dazzling art glass pendants in many shapes, sizes, colors and optical effects. Especially stunning are the pieces fired with the dichroic-coated glass which undergoes astonishing visual transformation under the 1500-plus degree heat of the kiln. Row House Gallery is pleased to offer these delightful works to all who are drawn to the magical qualities of glass.
Stop by and enjoy this lovely wearable art, add a piece to your own jewelry collection, or surprise someone you care about with "the magic of warm glass" from Shirley and Barry’s cozy studio in the woods!
